Executive Team

Neena Haider, PhD

Founder & CEO

Dr. Neena Haider is a visionary pioneer in genomics and precision medicine with 25+ years of leading health and science platforms. Dr. Haider is revolutionizing medicine by making the impossible possible—turning genetic diseases from life sentences into treatable conditions. As founder of Shifa Precision and former Harvard Medical School faculty member, she has dedicated her career to transforming how we prevent, diagnose, and treat disease at the most fundamental level: our DNA.

As Dr. Haider says “we are a product of our DNA and environment” and only by understanding the complex and intricate molecular level interactions of our body, whose iterations are in billions and trillions (not 10s or 100s) can we truly determine precision medicine and preventative, predictive care solutions.

Dr. Haider was a key contributor to the Human Genome Project, where she made foundational discoveries that led to the identification of more than a dozen genes linked to devastating diseases including blindness, kidney disorders, and autism. Beyond discovering disease-causing genes Dr. Haider focused her academic career on developing cures.

At Harvard Medical School, she pioneered novel gene therapies with broad capabilities to treat multiple rare and common forms of blindness. Her groundbreaking work earned U.S. patents, FDA orphan disease designations, Regenerative Medicine Advanced Therapy status, and European Medicines Agency approval for clinical trials. Dr. Haider directed courses at Harvard Medical School teaching analysis of data from NGS, microbiome sequencing, and EMR patient records through statistical approaches, and AI modeling including machine learning, and deep learning.

Throughout her career, Dr. Haider has served in leadership roles at Harvard Medical School, the National Institutes of Health, U.S. Congress, National Science Foundation, and NASA, bringing scientific rigor to policy and practice. Her research has been published in leading journals, cited over 3,000 times, and incorporated into textbooks worldwide, establishing her as a global authority in genetics and gene therapy.

Recognizing that the future of medicine lies in prevention rather than reaction, Dr. Haider founded Shifa Precision, an AI-powered precision medicine platform that provides predictive health analysis to clinicians. Shifa Precision’s innovative approach empowers clinical care decision makers to proactively identify and mitigate diseases before they manifest, fundamentally shifting healthcare from reactive treatment to predictive prevention.
